Abners Cheesesteaks

We must admit there are many restaurants in Philadelphia. Very few however have the lasting power and favorable memories that we have. Abner’s of University City has provided a home away from home for University of Pennsylvania students for the past twenty-two years. Students return to eat here year after year. Alumni visit us and recall their fond memories of enjoying cheese steaks at our restuarant. They stop by to look at our walls of pictures, many of which are of their friends and family.

University of Penn alumni order cheesesteaks from all over the United States, and we specially pack and ship them out. The Penn club in New York City has an annual Abner’s Cheesesteak cookout; we provide Penn alumni with a taste from their past!

Not only has Abner’s of University City been a great place to enjoy a Philadelphia favorite meal, but we have also been active contributors and supporters to Pennsylvania University. Abners also provides discounted prices for all the players.

Abners has consistently shown its support and care for the students at University of Pennsylvania. We have continually supported Penn’s Greek system by opening our restaurant to Inter-fraternity council meetings, donating hundreds of cheesesteaks to fundraising events and sponsoring a Steak Eating Contest for the Sigma Chi Fraternity Derby Days fund-raiser to benefit children’s crisis.

We are also strong contributors to the Philadelphia commnity with annual support of children’s hospital fund-raisers and providing meals for 80 families staying at the Ronald McDonald House on the first Saturday of every month.

There are not many restaurants that can say they truly are supporters of Pennyslvania University, but we have consistently shown our support in many aspects and can confidently say we work well together. We hope to be able to bring our relationship to new levels in the future!
